We are currently recruiting for an Estimator
This is a full time and permanent position.
Position Overview
The Estimator is responsible for issuing Purchase Orders, and providing other information to trades that is required to build a "production" home.
May included involvement in data base maintenance and pricing of more involved Global and Design Center Options, Standard models and Standard Model options.
Job Duties
- Function as support for sales department inquiries from prospective clients.
- Perform custom sales and design center pricing.
- Creation of change orders for sales for appliance, low voltage, & blind upgrades.
- Perform A/C pricing when required.
- Complete budget and PO issuance process.
- Function as support for site team, drafting, design, trades, and suppliers before and during construction process.
- Field PO Issuance.
- Review, investigation, and coding of variance invoices.
- Perform system pricing and option updates.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in Building, Construction Management, Architectural Technologies, Quantity Surveying or equivalent from a recognized technical institute is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical blueprints and specifications.
- A current (within 6 months) Police Clearance Screening is required upon hire
- Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material and labour estimates.
- Ability to navigate and learn new technologies and processes.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, etc.);
- Ability to multitask, have flexibility to switch between projects and work to deadlines;
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- Time management skills.
- Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current.
- Respect diversity treat others with respect.
- Ability to work in a team environment with a minimum of supervision.
