- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service to all guests in a variety of settings, including plated and buffet banquets for breakfasts/lunch/dinner, working lunches, coffee breaks, cocktail receptions, formal evening events/galas/weddings, and off-site catering events
- Serve all food and beverage items for assigned banquet functions
- Explain banquet menus to guests, assisting those with special dietary needs or preferences as well as providing suitable assistance when recommending beverages
- Have full knowledge of all beverage lists and all menu items being served
- Clear and reset function space, as well as ensuring service areas are clean and tidy
- Assist with function room setup and tear down as specified by meeting organizers
- Follow all policies, procedures and service standards, including health & safety and food handling procedures
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. The schedule for this position will primarily be AM shifts. Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience is required, with previous food & beverage and/or banqueting/catering experience preferred
- Must hold valid Alberta ProServe certification
- Must be physically fit with the ability to lift heavy items (trays, chaffing dishes, etc.)
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
