The Position
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document daily inspections of lift trucks
- Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met
- Safely operate a lift truck to:
- Ensure lines have sufficient components, stampings, and containers
- Arrange the storage/transportation of stampings to and from assembly lines in organized manner
- Ensure finished goods are verified by inspectors and approved before strapping and or putting into storage
- Organize and return bins/ containers
- Scan paperwork and move stampings and components to and from assembly lines
- Use scanners to ensure lot traceability of components and stampings
- Maintain a clean and tidy/organized work area
- Adopt Kaizen principles and concepts and participate in GEAR activities
- Maintain contact with supervisor(s) and work to resolve issues as they arise
- Follow all regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable standards
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:

Valid forklift certification and proven experience operating a counter-balance lift truck
- Two years of experience is preferred
- Good handeye coordination
- Attention to detail
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Experience with bar code scanning and printing labels
- Knowledge of basic mathematics
- Physical requirements include:
- Sitting and driving for longs periods of time
- Frequently climbing up and down steps of the lift truck
- Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
