  • The Project Manager/Estimator will assist the division 8 and 10 commercial division and possibly others within the company, with the project management of orders and becoming sufficient in, including but not limited to, preparing hardware schedules, ordering of materials, arranging shipping, arranging installs with Doortech's installations & service coordinator, ensuring progress billings are completed & working with customers to ensure all details of projects / jobs are met.
  • Assist with receiving customer quotation requests, becoming efficient in reading architectural and engineering blueprints and / or preparing shop drawings using autoCAD as required, preparing detailed quotes, following up on those quotes, and closing the sale with either a contract, a purchase order or a sales order.
  • Becoming efficient in managing projects, prepare work orders for production and as and when required, make recommendations for product purchasing with the Purchasing Manager.
  • Learn how to do material takeoffs and pricing for hollow metal, finish hardware and miscellaneous specialties through public tenders and / or design build customers.
  • Deal with callin customers as required; customer opportunities, issues, and problems as these arise ranging from an initial discussion all the way through to a final resolution.
  • Review completed Sales Orders prior to Invoicing ensuring that both corporate and customer expectations and deliverables are met for product, price, service, and timelines ("under promise and over deliver").
  • Monitor delivery and lead times for ordered materials.
  • Attend site meetings as required.
  • Strong and frequent communication with customers on all aspects of the project
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities as and when these are presented to you.
  • All other duties as assigned from timetotime.
