About the Opportunity:

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Dalhousie University is seeking a physician for a clinical position in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) at IWK Health.

Have a look to meet some of our team and find out more about the design of our new 35-bed Emergency Department

IWK Health is a respected academic center and serves as the only pediatric trauma and referral center for the Maritime provinces.

The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is an academic department of approximately 25 physicians who proudly lead the on-site subspecialty training program in PEM.

As members of the Dalhousie University Academic Department of Emergency Medicine we work and collaborate closely with approximately 50 EM physicians at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

Clinicians within the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine possess expertise in research, medical education, health informatics, quality improvement & patient safety, point of care ultrasound, simulation, disaster medicine, social pediatrics, and pre-hospital care & trauma systems.

Members are compensated in an AFP model that rewards non-clinical activities including academic pursuits, teaching, and administrative work for many physicians.

The PEM group understands work-life balance, which allows for flexibility in scheduling, a one-month unpaid wellness sabbatical, and frequent social gatherings, providing a sense of community.

As a member of Doctors Nova Scotia, physicians enjoy many benefits including an affordable health and dental plan and parental leave.
