We are searching for a Pastry Chef (Traditional Chinese Pastry) to join our team.Job Title:
Pastry Chef (Traditional Chinese Pastry)
Requirements:
- High school graduation or equivalent experience
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in: Supervisory experience in a pastry production facility producing shelfstable pastry (nonfrozen items) to many restaurants/retailers; and making Chinese buns, sweet and salty traditional Chinese pastries of the Suzhou/Hangzhou region
- Language: May communicate in English
The Basic Duties and Responsibilities will be:
- Plan and direct pastry preparation to supply to several restaurants, bakery & dessert retailers in our establishment
- Research and develop recipients of southern sweet and salty pastry items
- Create new product items and ensure food products meet quality standards
- Estimate ingredient requirements, food and labor costs
- Supervise activities of other chefs/cooks/helpers at the production kitchen
- Provide training to staff on preparing, producing and completing the pastry items
- Make sure the operation standard is according to government requirements
