Position Summary:


  • Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for providing supervisory excellence to a shift of hourly associates in achieving Safety, Quality and Production goals. This individual is responsible for safely planning, production oversight through the process of continuing improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage production team as direct reports
  • Interact with scheduling, maintenance and production personnel to ensure efficiency
  • Develop SOP's for all setup and start up change over practices in conjunction with maintenance
  • Participate in developing metrics to track progress and improvement efforts and work on achieving targets using said metrics.
  • Encourage crew engagement/participation in ongoing plant improvement processes (JH&SC, monthly crew safety meetings, 6S projects, Continuous Improvement team and projects, etc)
  • Provide and/or participate in training, as required.
  • Create/lead positive example as relates to Westlake Code of Business Ethics and Workplace Harassment/Discrimination Policy.
  • Vacation coverage for shift supervisor where possible
  • Special projects related to production or technical as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Certifications:


  • Three to five years related supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Selfmotivated individual with welldeveloped organizational, time management and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work and contribute in a team environment
  • Proficient with MS Office ( i.e. Excel, Word, Power point, etc.)
