Job Description:
Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
- Carry out structural analysis of Transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls
- Inspection and evaluation of structures
- Report preparation
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
- Must have basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (structural analysis and design software such as MIDAS, SFrame etc.)
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and structural steel design
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering or other related field
Preferred Requirements:
- Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
- Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
- Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
- Underground Structure knowledge
- Bridge engineering knowledge
