Job Summary

Part time Research Assistant In Materials Engineering.

Organizational Status

Will report directly to Dr. Kiana Amini

Work Performed

Assists with conducting and running experiments and research work by performing specific assigned tasks.


Help plan and set up a new lab, including organizing equipment, arranging lab space, and installing and troubleshooting lab equipment.

Assists in analyzing and interpreting experiment results or research data.

Assist new students with data collection and analysis, including organizing and processing data, and conducting literature searches.

Consequence of Error/Judgement

May result in damage to equipment and incorrect data.

Supervision Received

Supervised by Dr. Amini.

Supervision Given

May supervise graduate students while training to use equipment.

Minimum Qualifications


High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
