Description

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Day Service Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the program, including implementing activities, individual programs, and coordination of transportation and vehicles.

Training/Administration

  • Develop training modules. Booking instructors and arranging initial training classes including online and offsite training.
  • Working partner with Scheduling, Payroll, Transportation and Oncall Coordinators/Clerks.
Scheduling

  • Assigning staff to program areas and activities.
  • Maintaining records.
  • Overseeing transportation schedules.
  • Coverage as needed for staff vacations and sick time.
Program Development and Management

  • Support program development and management by identifying areas for growth and development and actively participate in the strategic planning process.
  • Act as a resource to address client support and service issues.
Program Evaluation

  • Ensure that staffing services are working towards achieving their outcomes.
  • Participate in formal program evaluations.
Proposal Development

  • Identify need for services and initiate or followup on the development process.
  • Input on staffing proposals and participate in negotiating funding.
Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients, and their support networks.
  • Ability to handle sensitive materials and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work effectively while under deadline pressures in a fastpaced environment and have strong time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to Collective Agreement.
  • Knowledge of general office practices.
  • Reliable, with excellent attendance.
  • Completion of high school, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Post-Secondary Education in Disability and Community Support, Recreational Therapy or related field.


This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) from the Winnipeg Police, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Class 5F Manitoba Driver's license as conditions of employment.

These checks must be current within three (3) months prior to the start of employment.


Salary:
$24.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Education:


  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sectors Search (local) (preferred)
  • Adult Abuse Registry Check (preferred)
  • Child Abuse Registry Check (preferred)
  • First Aid Level C with CPR (preferred)
  • MB Drivers License (Intermediate or 5F) (preferred)
