The
Payment Recovery Analyst manages and recovers outstanding overpayments.

In addition, the Analyst assesses, determines the feasibility and initiates pursuit of subrogation on assigned disability and health claims and manages settlement of these claims.


What you will do

  • Actively living our Values of Customer Service, Partnership, Integrity and Communities;
  • Recovering outstanding payments on Life, Health and Dental and Disability claims as referred by Disability Management Service Offices, Benefit Payment Offices and Group Life in the most cost effective manner;
  • Providing guidance to the Disability Management Service Offices for handling overpayment recovery and arranging repayment schedules;
  • Reviewing and assessing claim files, including medical evidence, payment information and the policy to determine a viable subrogation case;
  • Presenting Canada Life's subrogation claims to counsel and negotiating settlement of Canada Life's subrogated right;
  • Negotiating legal fees and any other process aspects necessary to satisfactorily settle the subrogated claim.

What you will bring

  • Completion of postsecondary degree; a combination of education and experience may also be considered;
  • Two years of insurance experience or industry related course designation;
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude;
  • Welldeveloped organizational skills, ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficient decisionmaking, analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus for continuous improvements;
  • Strong computer skills, MS Office (Word, Excel);
  • Proven negotiation skills;
  • Strong mathematical aptitude;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
