- Maintain all resin systems and vacuum loaders, and clean filters and make repairs as required
- Maintain all support equipment, tape feeders, spiral units, extruders, vacuum tanks, pullers, reelers, air systems and water systems
- Assist all departments with breakdowns
- Assist and/or perform all tooling changes for the extrusion department as required by order change
- Perform daily maintenance sheets on all plant equipment as per work sheet.
- Assist the general maintenance crew with equipment rebuild, plant shutdowns, and new equipment installations
- Record all data as required (i.e. charts, necessary process adjustments based on data findings, etc.)
- Performs routine machine maintenance
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Follow and promote all safety requirements for this position in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations
- Ability to travel to the US for training purpose
- Ability to adapt to new ideas, technology, processes, and product changes
- Perform all other duties as directed by management
- Licensed Millwright – Certificate of Qualifications
- Plastic extrusion experience
- 3 + years of experience in mechanical maintenance
- Ability to assist production on tooling changes on the dies
- Ability to use most hand and power tools required for this position: wrenches, torches, volt meters, drill press, and band saw
- Knowledge of 120/240/480v single and three phase systems
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues
- Good knowledge of Provincial and local safety codes
- Comfortable operating a forklift
- Reading, writing, and mathematical competency testing required
- Computer skills – knowledge of MS Excel
- Mechanically inclined
- Manufacturing floor environment
- Work includes exposure to hot equipment with moving components and spending 8 hours a shift on your feet
- Ability to lift 50 lbs with or without assistance.
- Moving from one area to another may require stepping over and/or bending under objects
- Ability to climb ladders, silos, railcars, roofs at varying heights
