    JOB OVERVIEW

    Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a business-minded, results-oriented and experienced leader to join its Supply Chain team in the role of Director, Supply Chain Quality. Reporting to the Vice President, Supply Chain, the Director plays a critical role in developing and executing supply chain and sourcing strategies by leading people, driving business change and transformation, modernizing and digitizing category management and procurement processes and developing and executing a quality program for the business to drive efficiencies. This role is also responsible for providing reporting to our vendors and holding them accountable within OPG's existing supplier programs.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Demonstrate expertise in supply strategy development, category quality management, strategic sourcing, change management and implementation;
    • Demonstrate expertise in understanding economic trends and commodity market outlook to reflect in category strategy and risk management;
    • Partner with the business to identify and execute objectives and needs as a trusted supply chain business leader. Ensure timely delivery with best cost, service and quality;
    • Provide leadership and strategic direction while developing and evaluating supply chain, purchasing processes and category management procedures, projects, policies and initiatives;
    • Provide strategic direction to business transformation, modernizing and digitizing category management and supply chain processes;
    • Develop category quality strategies and manage key drivers of category spending, including establishing contracts, cost reductions, supplier development, diversification, consolidation, and working capital improvements;
    • Be accountable for building the vision and strategy for fiscal value and monetary controls to manage the complexity and risks of what OPG procures. This involves engagement with multiple stakeholders and management of significant budgets that have impacts on business performance;
    • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Cost Modeling and implement cost models across the categories;
    • Lead and apply change management practices in building and transforming a supply chain organization in a fast-paced, highly complex and technical industry;
    • Understand and analyze market, demand, and supplier trends. Identify opportunities to develop strategic initiatives to improve costs and supplier performance;
    • Develop and hold other leaders accountable for the right supplier mix to position OPG for growth and success;
    • Lead annual planning for category key performance indicators (KPI), targets and metrics. Conduct frequent business and performance reviews with suppliers to improve KPI performance;
