WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assign responsibilities and equipment to monitor and ensure fair work load between maintenance personnel.
- Ensure that all preventative maintenance is carried out on schedule and recorded properly in log books.
- Ensure that all equipment under the preventative maintenance program has appropriate PM sheets placed on it.
- Ensure that all predictive maintenance test are performed by a chosen, qualified organization and results of the testing and recommendations are analysed and implemented to ensure proper functioning of the equipment and reduction of breakdown interventions.
- React to the production needs by scheduling and performing necessary repairs to ensure that quality parts are manufactured and equipment downtime due to breakdowns are minimized.
- Schedule and supervise major equipment repairs, overhauls and rebuilding to ensure that it is fully operational and safe to operate.
- Monitor the current critical spare parts stock, update the required documentation and ensure that the stock level of spare parts necessary for is brought back to the required minimum.
- Ensure availability of all materials and tools necessary for any scheduled equipment repairs to ensure that they are performed in a timely manner and quality of work is maintained.
- Participate in the plant continuous improvement program.
- Daily, in conjunction with plant schedules, and prioritize all outstanding tooling and hand tools used by maintenance department that are the company's property.
- Monitoring the use and keeping inventory of all power tools, machine tools and hand tools used by the maintenance dept. that are the company's property.
- Constantly monitoring plant equipment for the existing and potential trouble spots, and taking appropriate actions to eliminate them.
- Ensure that work performed by outside contractors is performed as per schedule and complies with the company safety rules
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
Education:
- Engineering Degree and/or Grade 12 Education and Millwright /Electrical Certificate
- Three to Five years mechanical Experience
Skills:
- Mechanical Aptitude
- PC Knowledge
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to evaluate, plan, analyze and make viable decision in a JIT work environment to ensure efficiency and timely implementation
- Basic understanding of budgets and financial reporting
- Excellent time and multiple project management skills and experience
- Good English language written and verbal communication skills with fluency in other languages being an asset
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Supervisory Skills
- Basic knowledge of Employment law including ESA 2000, Human Rights Code and OHSA
Experience:
years related experience in a similar role with a Preventative Maintenance Program.
