The Data and Reporting Analyst must be proficient in data and process optimization, have a solid understanding of data analysis, data analytics, ETL development, reporting, dashboarding and data modeling.


Major Responsibilities- Architect and deliver analytical solutions to process complex information from System One data sources (Maximo, Workday, Powerplan, Adaptive Insights) into efficient and robust data models for developing engaging and effective dashboards.- Build and maintain pipelines and data flows in Azure Synapse Analytics workspace to ingest, transform and store data from cloud and on-premise source systems.- Provision multi-sourced data through a data virtualization layer in Denodo and optimize query performance using features like caching and data movement. Perform unit testing, troubleshoot defects, and document solutions as part of the project lifecycle.- Identify processes that can be optimized and automated using Power BI, Power Apps, Denodo, Azure Synapse pipelines and other analytical tools.- Evaluate and advise on best practices for solution design.- Write SQL queries for ad-hoc analysis.- Conduct data literacy workshops and knowledge sharing sessions with business and technical users to promote effective data modeling and utilization of System One data assets.- Participate in the change management efforts related to product and system upgrades and minimize the impact on business users through effective communication, training, and testing.- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics.


Education Required:

  • University degree in Computer Programming, Engineering, or Business with at least five years of progressive experience in business intelligence and data warehousing experience
  • Related certification in Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data Factory/Synapse Analytics, or programming (such as Python or SQL) is preferred.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 years or more of previous experience in a technology function or/and business 5 years previous experience in developing solutions using standard RDBMS Expertise in data visualization concepts and tools such as Power BI, along with experience in Microsoft Power Platform and Denodo Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Server, and other cloudbased data platforms Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data quality Experienced in connecting to and consuming XML, JSON, and CSV data formats Proven experience in change management efforts and delivering effective training sessions

Location:

This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB).

You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
