Wells Gray Outfitters is Clearwater's sporting goods and outdoor store. We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, customer-focused, and community-minded individual to join our team as an assistant store manager.

In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, maintain a clean and organized retail space, and help create a positive shopping experience for every customer. This position involves working independently, and as part of a team, managing the day-to-day store operations. Additionally successful applicants will be trained to perform basic bicycle maintenance, skate sharpening, and a variety of other equipment services.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, an active interest in sports and/or outdoor activities, and the ability to represent Wells Gray Outfitters as a positive ambassador in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service by engaging with customers and assisting with product selection
• Fit and adjust equipment safely and accurately
• Provide guests with friendly directions and local recommendations during their visit to Wells Gray Provincial Park
• Process transactions and handle cash accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system
• Assist with inventory tasks such as restocking, organizing, and inventory counts
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and exterior areas

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new products and skills
• Comfortable working independently when required
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid Class 5 drivers license is preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
