The Manager, Corporate Project, Program and Portfolio Management is responsible for developing and establishing corporate Project, Program and Portfolio management processes, tools, governance and integration.

Designs the tools and approach to managing projects, programs, and portfolios from initiation to final delivery:
including oversight, scoping, resources, schedules, cost, communications, quality, dependencies, planning and execution.

Deploys tools, services and processes to help delivery managers and project teams manage and successfully implement projects across the Corporation.


Responsibilities:

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Manager, Corporate Project, Program, and Portfolio Management:

  • Develops and maintains standard Project, Program, and Portfolio Management, processes, tools, governance and integration management. Perform annual review to assess and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provides handson support for the rapid development of detailed project plans and documentation of project expectations and associated risks. Provide project support throughout project execution, including assurance, training and project health checks. Facilitate sessions to drive collaboration and project interdependencies between project teams.
  • Supports the annual corporate investment planning process, resource capacity management, portfolio reporting, and governance. Reports on progress, versus plan including milestones and interdependencies Identifies risks and issues and facilitates business decisions needed to resolve problems.
  • Reviews progress of corporate transformation, project performance and corporate planning cycles. Monitor project and program compliance with corporate standards, processes, tools and methodology.

Job Responsibilities (continued):


  • Develops and executes Change Management plans including effective communication tools where required, to support the implementation of changes to Portfolio, Project, and Project Management Process, tools, and methods.
  • Conducts project closeout sessions to assess the client's satisfaction, establish continued communication/reporting process with project/executive sponsors, and distil lessons learnt through the Project's life cycle.
  • Identifies and share insights, improvement opportunities, and options with Business Transformation team, Operations and Lines of Business teams. Supports the development of project organizations, including reviewing project position job descriptions and selection of project team members.
  • Leads, coaches and guides a small team of professionals and ensure they have opportunities for development and growth. Communicates priorities and objectives clearly and contribute to a work environment where team members are engaged and motivated to contribute their best effort. Conducts business in a manner that reflects Corporate Values, Leadership Behaviors and Habits.

Qualifications:


Education

  • Postsecondary education in a relevant field of study (Business Administration, Engineering, Sciences) OR a combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years leading Project Management Office using proven methodologies.
  • 2 years of experience leading people preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills & extensive knowledge of Excel and MS Project.
  • Knowledge and experience with Sciforma an asset.
  • PMP and PRINCE2, PgMP, MSP, MoP, PfMP certification an asset.
