GENERAL DESCRIPTION


As an Drape Installer, you will play a crucial role in our team by ensuring the seamless installation and removal of drapery at various event venues and tents across the GTA.

From corporate gatherings to elegant weddings and private functions, your expertise will contribute to the success of each event.

This position requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.


DETAILED JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Execute drapery setup for corporate events, weddings, and private functions, adhering to specific client requirements and event timelines.
  • Prepare hardware and fabric for orders, ensuring accurate loading onto vehicles for transport to event sites.
  • Set up pipe and drape configurations in ballrooms and event spaces, creating visually appealing backdrops and partitions.
  • Implement special drape treatments on ceilings and tent sides, accommodating outdoor environments and weather conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with Event Coordinators and Venue Special Events Coordinators to deliver exceptional customer service and meet client expectations.
  • Unload trucks postevent, meticulously checking inventory items for damage and restocking for future use.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the drape area within the warehouse.
  • Assist with washing, folding, and hanging fabric as needed to ensure quality control and inventory management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in theatre or prop management is an asset
  • Possession of a valid G driver's license, with the ability to drive a minivan (noncommercial or industrial) to transport equipment and materials to event sites.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and assemble equipment, with a capacity to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Comfort working under pressure and managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Experience working at heights, including the use of ladders and scaffolding (safety training will be provided).
  • Flexibility to work weekends and occasional teardowns at the conclusion of events, potentially extending past midnight.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to stand for up to 810 hours per shift.
  • Exposure to some warm and cold weather.
  • Weekend availability
