Position Summary
The Massage Therapists' Association of Alberta (MTAA) is seeking a highly organized, service-oriented, and creative Marketing & Member Services Coordinator to support the Association's communications, marketing initiatives, and member engagement activities.
This role is responsible for promoting MTAA programs and services, supporting membership growth and retention, and ensuring a positive and professional experience for current and prospective members. The ideal candidate combines strong communication and marketing skills with exceptional administrative and customer service abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives to promote MTAA membership, programs, events, and professional resources
- Create and manage content for newsletters, email campaigns, website updates, and social media platforms
- Coordinate digital marketing campaigns to support membership recruitment and retention
- Assist in the development of promotional materials (print and digital)
- Monitor engagement metrics and provide basic reporting on marketing performance
- Maintain brand consistency across all communications
Member Services
- Serve as a point of contact for member inquiries via phone and email
- Assist members with understanding MTAA policy, and member benefits
- Support onboarding communications for new members
- Coordinate member communications related to updates, deadlines, and announcements
Administrative & Event Support
- Assist in the coordination of member events, continuing education opportunities, and meetings
- Support planning and execution of annual events or conferences
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation as required
- Provide general administrative support to leadership and committees
Qualifications & Skills
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in marketing, communications, customer service, or administrative coordination
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing social media platforms and email marketing tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and familiarity with CRM or membership databases
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional, diplomatic, and member-focused approach
Preferred Assets
- Experience working with professional associations, non-profits, or healthcare organizations
- Graphic design experience (e.g., webiste design, Canva)
- Basic knowledge of marketing analytics tools (e.g., MailChimp)
- Understanding of the massage therapy profession or regulated health environments
- Experience in public speaking and with in person promotion
Working Conditions
- 35 hours per week
- Primarily office-based with occasional event support required
- Some evening or weekend work may be required for events
