Our organization:
The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) is the industry-funded regulator responsible for administering the province's securities laws. It is entrusted with fostering a fair and efficient capital market in Alberta and with protecting investors. As a member of the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), the ASC works to improve, coordinate, and harmonize the regulation of Canada's capital markets.
The opportunity:
Are you a seasoned Organizational Change Management (OCM) Consultant who excels in large-scale transformation initiatives?
The ASC is seeking an OCM Consultant to develop and implement organization-specific, scalable, and proactive change practices to drive adoption, improve outcomes, and support the organization's long-term digital transformation strategy.
The scope of work is anticipated to span a two-year contract period, requiring an estimated hours per month, with clear deliverables and timelines aligned to the ASC's transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning for change, particularly in technology-related initiatives, including:
- Developing integrated change strategies for major initiatives,
- Conducting readiness assessments, change impact analyses, and actionable recommendations,
- Drafting team, organizational and stakeholder assessment maps,
- Maintaining a risk log with mitigation strategies and recommendations.
Aligning teams and individuals with organizational and IT transformation plans, including:
- Designing engagement and communication plans tailored to programs and initiatives,
- Developing materials and messaging in collaboration with Communications and other teams,
- Facilitating leadership alignment sessions, workshops, demos, and focus groups, including preparation of supporting documentation.
Implementing learning and development for technology solutions, including:
- Creating training strategies and curricula, preparing learning materials, developing content, and facilitating workshops.
- Measuring and reporting on change adoption, and identifying areas for continuous improvement.
- Advising leadership and coordinating change management activities across the organization, sharing best practices and knowledge with the IT team, leaders, employees, and teams.
- Developing tools, templates, and frameworks to enhance the ASC's change management capability, such as playbooks, SOPs, toolkits, and standards.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Certification in Change Management (e.g. Prosci or CCMP) is strongly preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience leading change management programs and delivering OCM outcomes
- Experience in leading large-scale change and transformation initiatives
- Ability to work as an independent contractor for a two-year engagement
- Demonstrated ability to deliver change management practices and solutions across all phases of the project lifecycle
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver change practices and solutions for all portions of project lifecycles
- Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to take initiative and drive work independently
