    ROLE PURPOSE

    Our Supportive Housing program provides safe and secure housing and wraparound support to people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. This program offers 24/7 support services that are tailored to the self-identified needs and goals of each resident.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    As a Program Coordinator, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Plans and develops the programs in consultation with the Program Manager or their designate. Plans and implements program activities and special events.
    • Makes recommendation to the supervisor regarding program development, policy and procedure formulation and program evaluation.
    • Reviews and monitors client case notes, written communication tools, incident reports and other program documentation.
    • Assists the Program Manager in assessing client referrals and carries out client intakes and orientation.
    • Facilitates the effective day-to-day operation of the program/s by ensuring that the necessary facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and program standards and licensing requirements are met.
    • Provides direct support services as assigned by Program Manager, Senior Manager or their designate.
    • Monitors program's expenditures and maintains financial records in accordance with established procedures.
    • Provides orientation for new employees and supports onboarding activities.
    • Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals to the program and represent the organization or program in external events.
    • Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.
    • Along with the other residence staff, monitors and ensures effective operation of the facility including quality control concerning cleaning equipment, indoor and outdoor maintenance, inventory, and food services.
    • Provides input into meal scheduling and preparation, including food inventory.
    • In cooperation with the management team, is available as a resource to staff, in case of emergencies. This includes participating in the on-call rotation and carrying the pager or cell phone 24 hours per day.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENRS

    We seek candidates who meet the following qualifications and requirements:

    • Valid class 5 driver's license
    • Personal transportation in good repair, insured for business up to $1,000,000 for liability, and suitable for client transport
    • Demonstrated ability to respond efficiently in crisis and escalated situations
    • Diploma in Social Services and one year of relevant experience, we will consider a relevant combination of education and experience
    • A background in professional or lived experience working with vulnerable populations facing multiple barriers
    • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check and reference checks
    • Current Emergency First Aid Certificate
    • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination

    COMPENSATION

    As Connective is a unionized environment, the starting wage is $29.17 up to $33.49 per hour. Plus benefits enrollment as per the Collective Agreement.

    Important: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.
