Rotation:
2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off

Shifts:

Monday to Friday - 10-hour days

Plus on-call on nights and weekends in Kitimat (unplanned overtime) for one week in a rotation.

Scope/Duties:

Working safely in accordance with safety standards actively leading and engaging in safety initiatives promoting our "Zero harm" safety culture.
Owning the departmental control system's design philosophy and topology and the different associated computerized hardware and communications infrastructure, liaising with IT or other departments for their operation and maintenance.
Monitoring and maintaining the different control and automation architectures, performing necessary programming changes to sustain system performance.
First point of contact for technical issues arising from Control Room computerized management and control systems.
Monitor process and system operation parameters and KPIs, looking for inefficiencies and performance issues, and work to resolve these in a timely manner.
Ensuring proper Management of Change practices are followed, performing all the necessary risk assessments prior to modifications.
Owning and managing Cyber Security standards for the department.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Technologist in Electrical Power Systems, Automation, or related.
Knowledge of power control and automation architectures and platforms like ABB DCS, ABB 800xA, ABB AC 800M, ABB AC 800PEC, ABB MACH 2, Allen Bradley, and SIEMENS SCADA.
Knowledge of communication infrastructure pertinent to power operations, like Power Line Carriers.
Knowledge of different communication protocols like MODBUS, Ethernet TCP/IP, GOOSE/IEC61850, ICCP Inter Control Center Protocol, etc.
Knowledge of humanmachine interface design and programming, including reporting tools like PI Historian.
Automation programming skills are a must and electrical knowledge to understand power generation, transmission, and distribution processes would be advisable.
