Accounts Receivables and Accounting assistant

Job Summary:


The divisional controller is looking for a strong AR and Accounting Coordinator to manage the accounts receivable functions for two businesses.

This role works closely with the admin, production, and the finance departments.

Business seeks an experienced AR clerk with basic accounting skills to process invoices, setup orders, support inventory related tasks, and other reporting functions within the organization.

We are looking for a team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

The position will be based on Annacis Island in Delta, BC, and will report to the Culinary Group Controller.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:


Accounts Receivable:


  • Convert Sales Orders to invoice when appropriate proof of sale is provided by each plant; send invoices to customers on a timely basis or upload to customer portals as applicable
  • Reconcile customer statements, liaise with customers to investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Proactively monitors customer aging and follow sup with overdue accounts
  • Ensure customer deductions are duly authorized by plant and sales personnel before processing
  • Process preauthorized customer debits through online banking platform
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly sales reports with the team and management

Accounting:


  • Reconcile bank accounts, monitor and update internal bank tracking sheets
  • Post journal entries and update continuity schedules (prepaid accounts, accrued liabilities)
  • Assist the accounting and finance team with period end and other tasks as required

Order Processing backup:


  • Monitor orders and coordinate capacity/delivery timelines with production
  • Create production reports and pick tickets, provide to production
  • Become familiarized with regular customer order schedules and liaise with customers to follow up on outstanding orders as needed.
  • Report weekly pallet usage to Chep via the Chep online portal

Required Skills:


  • Minimum 2 years of AR experience
  • Intermediate computer and MS office
  • Strong customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Strong understanding of the accounting principals, sales taxes, and AR functions
  • Ability to calculate and manage accounting figures

Job Types:

Salary:
$50,000.00-$53,000.00 per year
