Your Opportunity:
The Service Worker I is an exciting role within the multidisciplinary team for the Albert Kidney Care - North (AKC-N) program.
Under the direction of the nursing staff, the Service Worker contributes to safe patient care and the efficiency of the Unit.
The Service Worker aids in setting up, rinsing, stripping and the maintenance of the hemodialysis machines under the supervision of a nurse.
The Service Worker under the direction of the nursing staff transports patients, assists with weighing patients, screening patients, patient comfort, and delivers specimens/supplies throughout the Hospital.
The Service Worker maintains, cleans, and handles hospital equipment pertaining to the Unit, as well as keeps supplies and linens ordered, stocked, and organized.
The Service Worker completes unit audits as directed.The Service Worker shall report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Manager and or delegate and perform other duties as required.

As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site.

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Must have recent and regular (within 6 months) dialysis service worker experience. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs (18kg). Demonstrates good communication skills, able to read, write and speak English fluently. Demonstrates ability to work as a team, under supervision, or independently. Must demonstrate a high degree of motivation and organizational skills. Must have the ability to work under supervision and independently, and to work in an actively paced area. Must be able to adapt to frequent interruptions and changes in activity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous training and/or experience transporting patients in a health care institution. Familiarity with hemodialysis equipment and supplies. Supply chain management experience.
