Job Title:
Content Writer and Social Media Coordinator
Location: 44160 Yale Road West, Chilliwack, BC
Job purpose:
Provide long-form and short-form written content, report to marketing lead, and manage social medias accounts to assist marketing department's goals in promoting Southern Irrigation's brand.
Key Result Areas
- Social media content updated regularly with appropriate content
- Blogs are written on a regular schedule
- Short and longform written content is completed according to campaign briefs
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Content Creation
- Using a customerfirst approach to messaging by researching facts, benefits and features for product marketing and content creation
- Increasing engagement on social media and landing pages with copy that converts readers
- Ensuring consistency (messaging, style, and tone) across all customer touchpoints
- Editing content produced by other team members, including from the Leadership Team
- Conducting keyword research using different tools to inform messaging strategies and topics with data
- Leveraging keyword insights to optimize existing website content for SEO (eg. keyword density, tagging, interlinking, etc) and conversion, and recommend new topics
Content Distribution
- Maintain social media calendar including writing, prescheduling and deploying posts in conjunction with visual content from graphic designer
- Finding opportunities to repurpose existing content through optimization or using different angles
- Responding in a timely manner to any questions posted on social channels
- Implementing written and visual content across different content management systems (Wordpress, Hubspot, Mailchimp, etc)
Project Management
- Using project management tools such as Notion to track timelines with other team members
- Assisting marketing lead on campaign and project briefs to ensure team alignment and completeness
- Collaborating with marketing lead, graphic designer and event planner on different campaigns
- Brainstorming with team members on new ideas and approaches
Competencies
- 2+ years of professional experience in content marketing / blogging / SEO (inhouse or agency)
- University degree or college diploma in: Journalism, Communications, Business, Psychology or English
- Strong writing, editing and communication skills
- Excellent grasp of the English language
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently using project management tools
- Selfmotivated and selfdirected team member who proactively assists when needed to accomplish team goals
- Creative and innovative thinker and planner
- Experience with organic social media management
- Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Buffer, etc.
- Portfolio of writing samples that include research to tell a compelling story to readers
