Your next Career:
Machine Operator - Day Shift - 7:30am to 4:30 pm, Mon to Fri.


Job Purpose


Working in the metal shop department the Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring the raw metal materials are produced to exact work order specifications in a timely and safe manner.

They work on the Amada Punch and ensure all components meet work order instructions and specifications and prepare them for welding or painting.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying customer work orders and specifications.
  • Stage materials at workcenter for the day's production and maintains production throughput.
  • Operates a variety of brake presses and auxiliary equipment in a safe and correct manner.
  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Facilitate workorder paper flow in accordance with ISO quality standards.
  • Responsible for final inspection of product before sending to next operational step.
  • Ensure the completed machined parts are loaded securely and safely to prevent falling over or damage when transporting to next workstation or operation.
  • Perform visual inspection to ensure raw and finished materials are defect and error free.
  • Correctly identifies and handles nonconforming product.
  • Daily cleaning of equipment and work area in accordance with company standards, rules to maintain a safe, tidy and clean work area.
  • Report on issues, malfunctions or defects to Lead Hand and Production Manager.
  • Reports any observed or potential hazards immediately.
  • Complies with all safety programs especially those related to production such as press guarding and lockout/tag out.
  • Wear the proper PPE where required.
  • Helps with other functional areas/departments as the need arises or as assigned.
  • Follow Calstone Inc. Policies and Procedures.
  • Adherence to attendance policy (regular attendance)
  • Train coworkers as assigned.
  • All other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Experience and ability to use quality measuring tools. Ie calipers
  • Excellent handeye coordination and physical condition
  • Lift, carry, push and or pull lbs frequently.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, and Managers.
  • Ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job.
  • Manual dexterity

  • Able to take instructions
  • Team player
  • Dependability
