You have:


  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline (HR, Finance, Business Administration or similar field)
  • Completion of the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in progressively responsible roles in Human Resources, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Minimum 4 years of managing compensation & benefits programs is preferred
  • Strong project management and communication skills, coaching and people management skills
  • Strong knowledge of HAY Job Evaluation methodology
  • Ability to occasionally travel to Field Offices throughout Ontario when required

What you will do:


  • Manage the administration of compensation programs including annual compensation review, variable pay program, sales compensation plan, job evaluation and pay structure development
  • Manage benefits programs and conduct analysis and research in support of the annual renewal and contract negotiation process
  • Provide expert guidance to leaders, colleagues and employees on total rewards solutions and challenges.
  • Monitor and assess changes in pension, benefits, and compensation legislation and potential implications to employees, the organization and collective agreement; update internal processes and documents as applicable.
  • Ensure pay equity plans are established and maintained on a regular basis.
  • Deliver and improve employee programs including recognition and rewards and scholarship.
  • Manage direct reports, set/review performance goals and provide training/coaching as necessary
