WHO YOU ARE
The E-Comm 9-1-1 People & Culture team is seeking a detail oriented, customer centric HR professional with disability management experience to join our team as an Occupational Health Specialist to support the management and administration of the occupational health portfolio including: employee leaves, disability management, gradual and early return to work, proactive care initiatives, accommodation and attendance support.
In addition, the Occupational Health Specialist will leverage a continuous improvement mindset to explore and implement technology solutions to automate and streamline occupational health programs to support a positive employee experience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Managing employee absences including WorkSafeBC Claims, shortterm disability, longterm disability and other work leaves
- Acting as a first point of contact in People & Culture to address workplace accommodation and ability management related questions and concerns from employees and managers
- Supporting the disability management program including the review of employees' limitations and restrictions in order to identify modified duties and workplace accommodations
- Ensuring a smooth transition between STD and LTD and managing changes to eligibility and duration of benefits.
- Responsibility for the case management of WorkSafeBC files, their progression, and subsequent coordination of return to work and accommodations
- Compiling and analyzing information for further assessment on claims (sick, LTD, or WCB), including arranging referrals, independent medicals and functional capacity exams etc.
- Making claim adjudication decisions based on case management analysis; consulting with thirdparty disability providers as required
WHAT YOU BRING
- 3 or more years of progressive experience in disability case management and workplace accommodations.
- Diploma or degree or other education related to Disability Management, vocational rehabilitation and/or wellness.
- Results driven mindset with a desire to work in a fastpaced environment, whilst delivering on multiple, concurrent initiatives
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of disability, claims management and wellness principles
- A customer service mindset, with a commitment to professionalism and coming from a place of curiosity when collaborating with others
- General understanding of group benefit plans and administrative processes relating to case management
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build long lasting relationships based on trust, integrity and accountability
- Experience working in a union environment is an asset.
- Certified Disability Management Professional, Certified Return to Work Coordinator, Registered Rehab Professional or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience is a strong asset
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained.
The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 3-5 years.

Vaccination Policy:
E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
