Key Qualifications/Requirements

• Preferred 3rd or 4th year apprentice and currently enrolled in Electrician apprenticeship program for trade.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
• Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position.
• Valid passport and driver's license.

Key Responsibilities

• Work under the guidance and supervision of a Certified Tradesperson to complete assigned tasks.
• Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
• Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies of Promatek.
• Ensure that the delivery on all projects is to the appropriate levels of quality, engineering level, on time and within the budget.
• Carry out preventative maintenance activities.
• Perform related mechanical duties as required.
• Maintain applicable documentation:
  • Electrical drawings, maintenance logs.
• Able to complete hands on work requiring heavy lifting.
• Support and participate in all continuous improvement projects.
• Other duties as required.

• In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Sec. 28.
