FLOOR MANAGER/SOMMELIER to join our team

We are looking for a
FLOOR MANAGER/SOMMELIER with previous management experience to join our team.
The
FLOOR MANAGER/SOMMELIER is responsible for helping the restaurant meet service, sales, and profit objectives along with supervising and directing associates in daily work activities.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations:
- Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and make final decisions on matters of importance to guest service
- Manage staff, providing them with feedback and maintaining a high level of employee morale
- Ensure positive guest service in all areas; investigate and respond to complaints, taking appropriate actions to ensure guest recovery and return
- Create an engaging and energetic environment where all associates work as a highly functioning team
Sommelier:
- Create and update the wine list in coordination with the General Manager
- Assist guests with wine selection based on their personal tastes and food choices; inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices
- Manage the wine inventory and order products as needed; cost all wine to ensure restaurant stays within targets laid out
- Oversee cocktail lists with Bar Manager, verify costs and inventory are at proper target
- Train FOH staff on available wines
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years' experience as a manager of a high volume, similar environment
- Postsecondary degree/diploma in Business/Hospitality Management/Food and Beverage Management and/or equivalent is an asset
- Wine education is a must
- Sommelier accreditation is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage staff at all levels, exceptional interpersonal skills
- High personal integrity, professionalism, and maturity
- Exceptional guest service orientation and passion for all things food and beverage
