Job Summary:


The Canmore Inn & Suites and Canmore Rocky Mountain Inn are looking for a new Maintenance Superintendent to lead our great team As the hotel Maintenance Superintendent, you are responsible for overseeing the maintenance operation, providing our guests with a secure, comfortable environment, and ensuring the maintenance department has great leadership and organization.

This position maintains the hotels assets through ongoing preventative maintenance programs and ensures all mechanical systems are operating in accordance with brand standards.

This role reports to the General Manager.


Responsibilities:


  • Set goals, standards and solutions, meeting deadlines that are beneficial to guests, associates and the hotel.
  • Coordinate and prioritize the distribution of repair maintenance orders and planned maintenance orders.
  • Train, motivate and supervise maintenance/engineering associates to ensure performance and excellent service standards are achieved.
  • Scheduling team members to meet business demands ensuring proper shift coverage for all days of the week.
  • Ensure the Engineering Department operates within approved budget and assists in the preparation of the annual budget; recommend items to be included in the capital budget.
  • Ensure the necessary resources, functional tools and equipment are readily available.
  • Lead and coordinate renovation projects.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment by conducting inspections on a regular basis to determine needs, extent of service, equipment required, type of operation and maintenance personnel needed.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws; communicate with department heads regarding their programs
  • Keep all mechanical, electrical and structural blueprints and diagrams up to date; maintain library of parts list, maintain manuals, reference books and catalogs.
  • Ensure Hotel is operating in a safe, efficient and orderly fashion.
  • Maintain safe working conditions within the department and hotel by ensuring that all associates and contractors follow Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Safeguard and prepare guests, associates and hotel assets in the event of an emergency by implementing emergency procedures.
  • Manage the capital expenditure and serve for all fixture, features and equipment.
  • Be aware of all chemicals in any of the cleaners/tools used on the job and follow WHMIS safety procedures.
  • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of swimming pool and hot tub.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations set forth by Alberta Health as it relates to pool water quality.
  • Assist with implementing and developing green building initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge Required:


  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience with at least 3 years at a supervisory level.
  • HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and other trades tickets/certifications is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail, maintaining a keen sense of urgency at all times.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Must be selfdirected, motivated, and demonstrate exceptional customer service, and interpersonal and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to actively demonstrate initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a 24/7 hotel environment
  • Knowledge of WCB, WHMIS, and safety procedures.

Physical Requirements:


  • Frequently lifting 5 to 50 pounds, occasionally heavier lifting.
  • Working outdoors and indoors.
  • Must be able to exert wellpaced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis.

$55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

  • Maintenance: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
