Reporting to the Quality Director, the Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and control processes within the nuclear sector.
This role requires a strong understanding of nuclear operations, quality management systems, and continuous improvement methodologies to uphold the highest levels of safety and reliability.
This position is based within the GTAWhat you'll be working on
- Collaborate with other leaders within the organization to cultivate a robust qualitybased culture, fostering excellence in each project and strengthening internal department relations within the nuclear sector.
- Lead a team of quality professionals at both corporate and project levels to ensure the consistent implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the organization, aligning with the industry standards and regulations.
- Review all internal and external nonconformances, overseeing rootcause analyses for each occurrence. Track and report all rework costs to management. Implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary, revising forms and procedures to enhance quality standards.
- Identify and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) pertinent to quality, monitoring both lagging and leading trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in thirdparty audits to facilitate recertification in compliance with regulatory bodies such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and relevant industry standards.
- Develop and revise quality assurance and quality control forms to ensure compliance with evolving industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement projectspecific quality management plans tailored to meet both organizational and regulatory expectations.
- Develop and implement projectspecific inspection and test plans (ITPs) in adherence to nuclear standards and client specifications, ensuring compliance with provincial, federal, and international regulations.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to the management team, providing support to field QA/QC personnel to ensure the successful execution of nuclear projects.
- Conduct ongoing quality audits of projects to verify conformity to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in annual Quality Management System (QMS) audits to assess organizational adherence to nuclear industry standards and regulations.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the nuclear industry with a strong understanding of nuclear quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Minimum 6+ years of direct experience in QA/QC roles within the nuclear sector.
- Professional Engineering (P. Eng) designation is highly desirable.
- Quality Management Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Extensive knowledge of applicable nuclear codes and standards, including but not limited to: ASME Section III, NQA1, 10 CFR Part 50, and relevant ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code sections.
- CWB Welding Supervisor Certificate and CSA W178.2 Level II Certification are assets.
