Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role, as the General Manager of Glasshouse Kitchen|Bar located in St Albert, AB.
As the General Manager, you will oversee the daily FOH & BOH operations of the company, including managing staff, developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and profitability, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Key Tasks:
Oversee all aspects of Hospitality + Service including floor support and interacting with guests in restaurant and café
Ensure seamless and efficient opening and closing of café and restaurant
Establish business plan by surveying restaurant demand
Meet restaurant financial objectives
Work with ownership on developing and implementing marketing, advertising and public and community programs
Maintain guest satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating and auditing food and beverage offerings and service
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry
Work with management and ownership to develop, implement and follow-up on all Glasshouse initiatives, standards and procedures (including dress code) aiming for consistent productivity and quality
Hire qualified employees
- Organize and facilitate staff training
- Set up training schedules for new staff
- Train and develop staff with support of other qualified, experienced staff
- Communicate training schedule with rest of the team to ensure trainees are set up for success each shift
- Ensure all staff has complete training
- Schedule and facilitate ongoing training for all staff
- Supervise, coach, develop and evaluate staff
- Constructive feedback
- Conduct performance reviews (30/60/90 days and annually)
- Ensure staff are scheduled based on business needs
Seasonal beverage and food menu development in partnership with Chef and FOH Manager
Ensure inventory and product ordering is accurate and complete
- Daily ordering of baked goods from bakery
- Grocery ordering
- Nonalcoholic drinks, liquor, wine and beer ordering and inventory
- Café product
- Supplies and linens
