Position Overview:


Under the direction of the Program Support Manager(s), Rehabilitation Services or the designated staff in Rehabilitation Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values, and Management Philosophy of St.

Boniface General Hospital, the REHABILITATION ASSISTANT, is responsible for:

performing direct and indirect patient care activities as assigned; assisting Rehabilitation Services in the implementation of appropriate unit based treatment programs; maintaining and preparing clinical treatment areas and supplies and equipment; and performing other related duties as assigned.


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the Rehabilitation Assistant Program from Winnipeg Technical College or recognized equivalent.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:


  • Physically capable of moving and transferring patients.
