Qualifications and Experience:


  • Master's Degree in Leadership, Assessment, Curriculum, or Inclusive Education
  • Minimum of five years successful P8 mathematics and literacy teaching experience
  • Certificate in Mathematics is an assett
  • Experience with curriculum implementation
  • Experience implementing effective technology integration practices
  • Leadership experience with school, Region, and/or provincial initiatives
  • Experience as an instructional coach
  • Experience in leading RCH initiatives, such as Culturally Responsive Teaching
  • Bilingual with the ability to coach in a French Second Language environment would be considered an asset

Task Dimensions:


  • Support teachers, support staff, and administrators in improving student engagement and achievement
  • Monitor Region and provincial assessments and work with teachers to improve instructional practice
  • Represent the Region at provincial meetings at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
  • Support coordinators and school administrators in curriculum delivery
  • Work with new classroom teachers and teachers new to grade P8 in the areas of Literacy and Mathematics classroom management, assessment practices, culturally responsive teaching and strong tier 1 practices.
  • Model lessons for teachers to improve their skills in developing lessons using various assessment techniques
  • Organize and present related Professional Development for teachers and support staff
  • Identify and promote digital resources to support the curriculum
  • Provide leadership for regional professional development days
  • Through coaching, support teachers and administrators in developing culturally responsive instructional and assessment practices
  • Support teachers in becoming selfmonitoring practitioners and selfextended learners
  • Coach in classrooms with teachers in a coteaching model to assist in planning instruction, instructional design
  • Facilitate learning opportunities for the ethical and responsible use of technology
  • Directly support all administrators and teachers in instructional practices that reflect the SAMR model, inquirybased learning, personalized learning, and culturally responsive pedagogy
  • Contribute to and participate in high functioning Collaborative Learning Teams with teachers and with other instructional coaches
  • Work with Information Technology Support Staff, library staff, and administration in the creation, maintenance, and/or development of school learning commons, including a Student Tech Help Team
