Your opportunity:
The Strategic Research Development Officer will support the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering strategic and research community to advance the Faculty's and the University of Toronto's strategic research administration activities.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Partnerships, the Strategic Research Development Officer will work in collaboration with the Division of the Vice-President Research & Innovation (VPRI) to bring the highest standards of professionalism and dedication to achieve maximum quality and administration support in order to contribute to the success of the Faculty's partnership initiative.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting analysis on research trends and other information to strengthen proposals
- Identifying, developing and executing strategies for research and development collaborations
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Researching and recommending new opportunities for external collaborations and partnerships
- Delivering presentations to promote programs, opportunities and/or initiatives
- Fostering and maintaining networks to build capacity and collaboration
- Promoting research initiatives at events and conferences
- Planning and estimating financial resources required for programs and/or projects
- Conducting detailed data analysis and interpretation of internal data related to research and partnerships to inform management decision making
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in an academic environment supporting strategic initiatives
- Experience supporting the development and implementation of academic strategies
- Demonstrated strategic, analytical, organization and planning skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of initiative with the capacity to work independently and as part of a group
- Demonstrated skills in working with Faculty members, administrators and students to support their initiatives
- Demonstrated judgement, initiative and ability to anticipate needs, ability to meet multiple priorities and details
