Pickering FC (PFC) is a not-for-profit soccer organization operating within the City of Pickering and is a
National Youth Club Licensed, an OPDL License and holds a partnership with League 1. Pickering FC is
governed by a Board of Governors and is operated by staff and volunteers, committed to providing
exceptional year-round Recreational and Competitive programs to all levels of play for youth to young
adults.

Pickering FC is a forward-thinking organization which develops and delivers sustainable programs on and
off the field to develop players through a proven systematic curriculum which is age specific. As a
community Club Pickering FC, has contributed to the development of the game and has developed players
who have gone on to play at Canadian Universities, NCAA Soccer Scholarships, Provincial Teams as well as
for our Canadian National Youth Teams. We are committed to the technical development of our grassroots
program while creating a proven pathway to the elite level for our male and female players.

The Pickering FC competitive coach (male/female u13 to u21) is a member of the Pickering FC Coaching
Staff. Pickering FC is creating an environment for young elite soccer players in the Durham Region to
further develop their skills, knowledge, and desire to open future pathway opportunities in soccer.

Pickering FC is seeking individual's, male or female (female role models for our female division is a priority)
who subscribe to continual professional development and self‐improvement to reach their full potential
as a teacher of the game. PFC has a desire to develop coaches who want to be mentored and evaluated
on a consistent basis to excel personally


Youth Coach:

Holds a paid position within the Pickering FC and therefore is expected to support Club initiatives and
policies as per their part time employment agreement. In addition to coaching the Youth team in the
Durham/York Region and across the Greater Toronto Area in the IMODEL League of a particular gender
within any given age group. The primary accountability for the Head Coach of our competitive teams is to
provide the leadership and guidance to develop the person before the player. The Head Coach is also

required to do the following:

**Technical Responsibilities of the Job: •Attend all training sessions as well as all games, tournaments, and other team events***
a. Travel within Durham/York & Scarborough Regions (GTA) for league games is required.***•Attend PFC coach education workshops and Clinic***•Support and implement the PFC Game Model, DNA and Curriculum.***•Schedule Exhibition games.***•Manage Fall Open House Trials and player selections.***•Attend all mandatory meetings set by the Club's Technical Department, District or Provincial

Association.***•Required to provide a standardized annual plan to the Technical Staff (Grassroots/DSO)***

Written goals and seasonal objectives for the competitive team***•Liaise with the Head Goalkeeper Coach***•Provide assessments of all players twice per year or as necessary per PFC Policies.***

Mid‐season & end of season***
b. Head Coaches must make themselves available for individual parent meetings following

the distribution of these assessments***•Agree to attract and maintain the minimum number of required players***•Communicate in a timely manner to respond to requests of the Technical Staff and other PFC staff**
Qualifications: Experience / Knowledge:


  • Minimum Soccer 4 Life, 'C' License preferred with enrollment in the CSA National Youth License
  • The Pickering FC will support coaches and approve any community license they wish to register
for, but this must be approved by the Director of Soccer Operations prior to registration. Limited
to one coaching education course per calendar year.

  • Clean Vulnerable Sector Police check is a mandatory policy
  • Valid Driver's License Skills and Competencies
  • Must hold and submit a valid Canada Soccer coaching license (age appropriate)
- (All Online Courses Below which are mandatory to pursue 'C' License)

  • Making Ethical Decisions transcript,
  • Respect in Soccer certificate,
  • Making Headway transcript,
  • Safe Sport,
  • Emergency Action Plan,
  • Mental Health in Sport with signed contract
  • Coaches working with female players must also complete Keeping Girls in Sport
