Description
Ebco Industries Ltd. is looking for an experienced Project Manager for our Ebco Products division. This role is critical to the reputation that Ebco has built for delivering world-class quality manufacturing.

You will be responsible for estimating, planning and project managing Ebco's major opportunities which can range from $100,000 to $7,000,000 and include machining, fabrication and assembly.

Our strengths encompass the complete spectrum from heavy metal fabrication, heavy machining, turnkey assembly to light precision machining and fabrication as well as precision sheet metal fabrication.

Our customers range from small and/or start-up companies to world class suppliers of OEM capital equipment and machinery. Our headquarters and manufacturing facility is located in Richmond, B.C. Canada.


KEY DUTIES

  • Project manage Ebco's product lines, from beginning to end including estimating, planning the manufacturing and inspection plans and closing out the job
  • Prepare material take off from customer supplied drawings, and source pricing on material required
  • Creating drawings and improving designs for our product linesusing Labour Standards for each work centre
  • Creating drawings and improving designs for our product lines
  • Analyze pricing models and data of our product lines
  • Analyze project scopes and documents to prepare pricing proposals, bid submissions, and accurate cost estimates
  • Report on daily production goals and targets and ensure we are achieving said targets
  • Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines for public and private sectors
  • Collaborate with shop managers, floor personnel, and relevant stakeholders in preparing competitive bids
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to create product strategies
  • Manage and monitor awarded projects to ensure that costs align with estimated cost
  • Provide support for ongoing projects including coordination, management of scope changes, negotiation and closeout (including post mortems/lessons learned)
  • Interact with production and qualityassurance personnel to clarify any machining concerns that could increase estimated costs or job plans
  • Build close client relationships and demonstrate strong results stemming from those relationships
  • Work in a mixture of both office and job shop environment
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Handson experience in metal machining and fabrication is a strong asset (ie. welding, fitting, machining etc.)
-
3+ years' experience in metal machining and fabrication estimating, project managing, or as a machine operator/fabricator:

  • Experience managing products is an asset
  • Strong experience of ERP software; Visual MFG, JobBoss, Microsoft Dynamics Sage, or equivalent
  • Microsoft office software: Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience on the floor as a fabricator or machinist is a strong preference
  • Highly skilled in blueprint interpretation
  • Understanding of GD&T symbols, weld symbols and specifications (these will be tested)
  • Understanding of metal machining and fabrication North American standards
  • Experience creating cost models for fabrication and machining
  • At least 2 years in steel manufacturing estimating is an asset
  • Experience dealing with large accounts is an asset
  • Lean manufacturing/six sigma is an asset
  • B.Eng EIT or P.Eng and/or PMP designation is an asset
  • Ability to create strong client relationships
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English; second language is an asset
  • Must be a motivated selfstarter who can work with mínimal supervision
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Open, honest, reliable and solutions driven
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to accommodate flexible working hours when needed
