The Opportunity:


Reporting to the Sanitation Supervisor, the Janitor is responsible for cleaning offices, washrooms, main entrances, corridors and stairwells, Lab rooms, and emptying garbage and recycling for 3 different buildings.

Additional cleaning duties include but are not limited to cleaning floors, washing walls, washing windows, sanitizing kitchen equipment, cleaning desks and shelving while ensuring that all other areas are kept clean and organized.


Schedule:

  • Monday
  • Thursday, 2:00 pm 10:30 pm
Wage

  • Start: $21/hour
  • After 6 Months: $22/hour
  • After 18 Months: $23/hour

As a Janitor you will:

  • Always work in a safe manor.
  • Provide a highquality cleaning service in all the nonproduction areas.
  • Work to ensure cleaning standards are being achieved.
  • Clean and organize areas using appropriate cleaning methods.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors, fixtures and equipment.
  • Gather and empty garbage and recycling.
  • Communicate the need for supplies and equipment for cleaning duties to the Sanitation Supervisor.
  • Complete all required documentation as instructed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

As a Janitor you bring:

  • Experience in an industrial environment is an asset but not required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend and twist as needed for specific tasks.
  • Able to lift upwards of 30lbs.
  • Valid WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and work independently.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dependable, reliable, and responsible.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong multitasking and timemanagement skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
