    We are seeking a Field-Based Engineering Student to join our Cold Lake Production team for a four-month work term. This role is ideal for an engineering student who has completed one or two years of post-secondary education and is interested in gaining hands-on field exposure within a thermal oil operation.

    Responsibilities

    • Support daily field production activities through data gathering, review, and reporting
    • Work alongside field operations staff to help troubleshoot well performance issues
    • Assist with monitoring production, downtime, and operating performance trends
    • Support data quality reviews for wells, pads, and surface equipment
    • Assist engineers and technologists with day-to-day tasks and special projects

    What You'll Learn

    • How thermal oil and SAGD operations function in a real-world field environment
    • The relationship between production engineering, operations, maintenance, and safety
    • How production data is collected, validated, and used to make operational decisions
    • Exposure to field equipment, instrumentation, and facility operations

    Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in an engineering program (mechanical, chemical, petroleum, or related discipline)
    • Completed at least one year of post-secondary studies
    • Strong interest in field operations and hands-on learning
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Comfortable working in a field-based setting
