Description

As Manager Distribution Operations, you will report to the Director, Distribution - Supply Chain Operations, and be responsible for managing people, processes and technology supporting our Network and Legacy Connected Home Distribution Operations at our York Mills site.

Leading a team of Material Handlers, you will ensure service levels are safely maintained across all operational processes including - receiving, returns, put away, production (testing of set top boxes) and fulfillment.

Collaborating with Business Unit and Supply Chain teams to align service, capacity, capabilities, forecasts, supply plans and other critical business requirements is a key responsibility.

Interacting and collaborating with various third parties (including transportation, 3PL and suppliers) is another key aspect of the role.

Responsible for continuous improvement and ensuring that operations are flowing safely, efficiently, and effectively are key objectives.

Ensuring that IT systems are operating as expected and fully tested supporting the ERP upgrade is an important aspect of the role.

You will also be responsible for maintaining and enhancing operational dashboards that measure volume, service, and productivity.

Championing transformation change management, and effectively managing relationships with senior leaders and peers is another key aspect of the role.

Other responsibilities and opportunities include working with cross functional leadership to develop short
- and long-term strategies, as well as participating in discussions on innovations and operational optimization opportunities.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Lead a team of Material Handlers to ensure service levels are maintained across all operational processes including receiving, put away, production (testing of set top boxes) and fulfillment.
  • Ensure warehouse and workplace is safe & secure for our employees, contractors & guests
  • Support the Distribution Operation Strategy
  • Develop and track operational and quality metrics to improve the performance of the team
  • Compare operational and quality parameters to external benchmarks, to continuously improve performance across the Rogers Distribution Network
  • Ensure adherence to budgets and costs while driving cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives across the Distribution operation
  • Provide thought leadership on Distribution Management
  • Champion transformational change management, collaborating with and influencing key business partners
  • Cultivate and effectively manage relationships with senior leaders and peers, and coach and manage the professional development of direct reports

WHAT YOU HAVE:


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or a related field
  • Professional Certification in Supply Chain / Logistics / Transportation preferred (e.g., P. Log., CITT)
  • 5 years of relevant Supply Chain experience, with demonstrated expertise in Distribution and Warehouse Management roles, 3PL experience or related field
  • Experience managing people in a unionized environment
  • Experience with the implementation and use of leading Warehouse Management Systems. Knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle preferred
  • Working knowledge of Accounting and Finance, as it relates to Supply Chain Operations
  • Strategic mindset, with honed analytical and problemsolving capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and executive presence
  • Effective interpersonal skills, and ability to influence and manage change
  • Be an advocate for a customer focused culture, and showcase the value of the Supply Chain organization as a valued business partner
