Job Description:
Responsibilities
e-commerce Visual Content - 60%
- Collaborate closely with the Studio Art Direction Specialist to develop beauty direction for new models and special launches
- Create guidelines and adapt processes and tools to stay uptodate with SSENSE art direction
- Monitor daily hair and makeup execution during shoot to ensure the team is aligned and delivering top quality results that supports both the studio's art direction and production targets
- Effectively articulate and communicate all hair and makeup requirements within Art Direction briefs
- Research new ideas for beauty direction, providing the Art Direction Specialist with solutions to achieve desired output
- Proactively develop the caliber of the team through reviews and workshops
- Stay uptodate on industry tools, techniques, and best practices in hair and makeup
Team Development - 40%**- Coach team on how to execute simple to high complexity beauty direction while staying aligned to AD briefs
- Influence, coach and mentor Hair & Makeup staff through editing, ensuring they adhere to guidelines
- Collaborate closely with Casting Director to identify training needs and help develop workshops and training programs and to onboard new hires and freelancers
Qualifications:
- College diploma, certificate or equivalent in hair and makeup
- A minimum of 3 years experience working as a hair and makeup artist in an ecommerce studio
- Advanced knowledge of different hair and skin products
- Advanced knowledge of styling tools and techniques to achieve desired looks
- Proven experience doing beauty direction and developing training guides
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
Skills
- Strong communication skills (both written and visual) to convey art direction to a team of creatives
- Ability to ideate and conceptualize quickly
- Conscientious of timelines and deliverables
- Ability to mobilize and motivate a breadth of employees, including nondirect reports, peers, and executives to achieve a goal
- Experience and desire to train and develop creative talent
