Family Support Worker

Location:
Williams Lake and100 Mile House, BC

Wage:
$28.32/hr.; as per the collective agreement


Summary:


The goal of the Family Support Program is to provide short-term, outcome-focused assistance to families experiencing significant challenges with the parent-child or parent-adolescent relationship.

This program will provide support to families in person and virtually.

Crisis interventions include conflict resolution, immediate modeling of parent techniques, facilitation of meetings, supervised access referrals, and additional work alongside the child.

The Family Support team works closely together to help reach the best outcomes for both the child and the family.

Company vehicle will be available for travel from Williams Lake to 100 Mile.

We anticipate being in 100 Mile House approximately 2 days per week, with a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the families.

Qualifications & Requirements:


  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related discipline
    is required.
  • One (1) year recent related work experience with families is preferred
  • Training in working with individuals and/or families in crisis is preferred
  • Reliable transportation and a valid BC driver's licence
  • Knowledge of and the ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD or other neurobiological conditions is beneficial
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (agency conducted, expenses covered)
  • Effective written and verbal communication
