JOB SUMMARY


Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Fleet Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Lower Mainland fleet and yard.

The Fleet Coordinator must be able to effectively communicate with all construction and services teams.

The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for assisting in management of an organized and efficient fleet operation pertaining to cleanliness, communication, inventory, deliveries, support, and ongoing projects.


ADMINISTRATION
Follows proper procedure when opening and closing the yard.

Responsible for maintaining branch appearance according to branch standards guidelines.

Ensures that daily circle checks are being performed and any issues are reported.

Controls tools inventory management through cycle counts and stock adjustments.


Ensures that inventory is stored in such a way that product loss is prevented due to human error or weather.

Attend regular meeting to evaluate fleet and equipment utilization.

Manage the consumables and inventory process for the company:
Purchasing and re-stocking of all items pertaining to fleet and yard.

Support with all new truck set ups.


DELIEVERIES
Accept all deliveries that come to the yard and communicate with stakeholders on the location of delivery.


Collaborate with the Ops teams:
Load and prepare any in-house rental equipment for safe pickup and delivery to sites.

Deliver large equipment such as Excavators and skid steers (including pick up from rental companies to mitigate delivery costs).


Mechanic Support:
Help with pickups and drop offs of fleet and equipment.

Provide help to the Fleet team when required.

Help with ongoing certification of our attachments.

Support in Repairs and Maintenance

In-House mechanic coverage during vacations and training.


YARD/OFFICE
Management of material bins.

General cleanup of yard and shop.

Help coordinate office maintenance and ongoing improvements.

Sell unutilized materials and equipment as instructed by the Fleet Manager.


GENERAL
Commits to safety by following company safety rules, regulations, and policies.

Follows Uniform policy; wears proper Personal Protective Equipment.

Supports company Health and Safety initiatives by identifying and reporting potential unsafe conditions or hazards.

Maintains a clean and neat work environment.

Attend and participate in local company events and initiatives.

Assist with snow and ice events during winter as required.

Assist the Fleet Manager with ad-hoc and special projects as required.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION
Post-secondary education in industry related topics

Red Seal or Automotive or Heavy Equipment certifications an asset.


EXPERIENCE
Experience driving a truck and trailer.

Mechanical aptitude

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (No major violations in last 5 years)

Heavy Trailer Endorsement required.

Class 3, Minimum 2 years of general construction or warehouse experience

Experience in the following, an asset:
Small and large engine mechanics

Purchasing and inventory management


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent command of the English language

Strong oral and written communication skills, some public speaking is

Strong computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Strong organizational and tracking skills

Strong customer service skills

Strong knowledge of navigating the Lower Mainland an asset

Excellent map reading comprehension an

Demonstrated safe driving

Ability to deal with conflict resolution and negotiation skills.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires walking, bending, twisting, and lifting in excess of 50lbs is required on occasion. Individuals should be in average physical condition to be able to complete the requirements of the position.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires the individual to work both indoor and outdoor settings.

The indoor setting is a normal shop environment while the outdoor setting may require work in extreme heat, cold, rain and wind.


COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Starting base wage of $45,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience
