    Job Description

At Takeda Oncology, the Global Oncology Business Unit of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, we develop and deliver novel medicines to patients with cancer worldwide through our commitment to science, breakthrough innovation and passion for improving the lives of patients. We know that our mission is not a quick or simple one, but we are up to the task: we aspire to cure cancer.

    Role Objective

The National Sales & Commercial Operations Lead is a core member of the Canadian Oncology Leadership Team, responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of Key Account Managers. This role drives commercial operations, including sales analytics, performance metrics, and incentive design, while enabling rigorous account planning and KPI tracking at the customer and account level. The successful candidate will elevate team performance through execution excellence in highly competitive oncology markets and advance customer engagement through targeted strategies.

This leader will also strengthen cross-functional ways of working in the field, serving as the primary point of contact for integrating field insights and ensuring alignment across functions. Through structured insight sharing, planning, execution, and performance monitoring, the role will enhance field effectiveness and deliver measurable commercial impact.

This position requires a seasoned oncology sales leader with strong strategic and commercial operations experience, a high sense of urgency, and a collaborative mindset to seize opportunities and remove barriers.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Lead Oncology KAM account operations and performance to deliver brand, account, territory, and national objectives.
    • Define, track, and review monthly sales performance KPIs; surface performance trends and drive timely corrective action.
    • Drive execution against agreed KPIs; lead incentive plan design, communication, and ongoing performance monitoring.
    • Lead development of KAM Plans of Action (POAs) and integrate them into a cohesive cross-functional POA.
    • Bring strong critical thinking, analytical rigor, and bias for action to remove ambiguity, enable sound decisions, and accelerate progress.
    • Serve as a key Integrated Brand Team (IBT) contributor by translating field insights into aligned cross-functional actions that maximize brand performance.
    • Establish and lead an integrated business planning cadence across field and office teams for key customers and oncology accounts, enabling tailored account strategies that strengthen customer engagement and impact.
    • Lead consolidation and planning to evolve Oncology's go-to-market approach as new brands and indications are introduced.
    • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, industry codes, and company policies and procedures.

    Digital Competencies

    • Partner cross-functionally to apply strong Omni-Channel Engagement (OCE) strategies across the customer journey.
    • Lead integrated account plans with clear tactics and KPIs aligned to OCE strategy.
    • Personalize engagement based on customer preferences (right content, channel, and timing).
    • Ensure all activity complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Leverage engagement tools (e.g., approved email, Takeda ID, Takeda Connect) to enhance customer experience.
    • Use insights (CRM, Power BI, CXM) to drive decisions and optimize activity.

    Preferred Experience and Education

    • 5+ years of experience in oncology pharma, including at least 5 years leading people.
    • Demonstrated leadership track record with a history of delivering results.
    • Brand marketing and/or commercial operations experience strongly preferred.
    • Strong analytical (qualitative and quantitative), strategic, and problem-solving capabilities, with creativity and sound judgment.
    • Clear, compelling communicator who can influence and align stakeholders.
    • Challenges the status quo, inspires commitment, and leads with urgency.
    • Self-directed, hands-on leader comfortable with broad responsibilities; persistent and resilient.
    • Proven ability to build trusted KOL and HCP partnerships.
    • Effective at leading cross-functional commercial execution and implementation.
    • Experience in commercial brand planning, translating insights into strategy and actionable tactics.
    • Ability to navigate and coach teams in a digital customer engagement ecosystem.

    Travel Requirements

    • Field-based role with willingness to travel approximately 25% (including overnight trips) to meetings and customer sites. Travel will be primarily within Canada, with occasional international travel as required.

This job posting is for a new role.
