Wage:
$ $40.00 per hour - Pay will be determined based on skills and experience
Schedule:
Monday to Friday day shift, 8 to 12 hours, weekend availability
Location:
Niagara Region - St. Catharines, Thorold, Niagara Falls, Welland, Dain City, Pelham, Beamsville
Work Environment:
Construction sites - work is primarily outdoors and may be exposed to various weather conditions. The job may require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods of time.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to each site
- Familiar with proper handling of materials and equipment
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- All personal protective equipment
- WHMIS Certificate
- A flexible schedule is a plus
Concrete Finisher Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, gather and inspect equipment to ensure they are functioning properly
- Set, align, and check all concrete forms
- Grade to proper elevations using skid steers, shovels, and rakes checking heights using lasers and string lines.
- Install rebar, wire mesh, expansion joints, etc. as called for in job specifications
- Move large quantities of concrete into position using pumps, conveyors, power buggies and wheelbarrows
- Spread and level concrete using rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, hand or power screeds, and floats
- Ensure finished product meets all specifications
- Saw cut joints as required
- Monitor the effects of weather on concrete
- Follow all industry and governmental safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain equipment and make repairs when necessary
Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and positioning forms for pouring concrete
- Dismantle forms after use
- Grade dirt and concrete efficiently and accurately
- Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring braces, and other temporary structures
- Install and tie rebar and wire mesh
- Move large quantities of concrete into position using pumps, conveyors, power buggies and wheelbarrows
- Follow all safety protocols when using tools and equipment
- Ensure work site is free and clear of any possible hazards
- Load, unload, and organize materials
- Keep jobsite, and trucks clean and organized
- Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned properly and in good condition
Salary:
$25.00-$40.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
