We are looking for a Mechanical Design Draftsperson with a fresh perspective and willingness to learn to join our growing team

What is the Role:

Duties include:

Use preliminary concepts, hand sketches, data sheets, and clientsupplied information to develop customized safety guard design drawings.
When possible, utilize standard part templates and make adjustments as required to meet individual client needs using supplied information.
Detail individual part drawings as part of a complete design project and ensure accuracy.
Use Autodesk Inventor to create 3D renderings of designs depicting their form and functionality.
Look for design flaws or dimensional errors and correct them as needed.
Convert designs to DWG/PDF files for use in design packages. Include all manufacturing specifications such as part lists, weldments, assemblies, and all hardware requirements.
Create installation instructions for clients using the developed part designs.
Liaise with Technicians and Estimators as needed to develop the best solutions to meet client needs.
Working in assembly areas to become familiar with our products or to troubleshoot may be required.
Other assigned duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Drafting Technology is a minimum requirement.
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety laws is required and familiarity with Industrial or Mining regulations is an asset.
Good working knowledge of GD&T and Design practices.
Proficiency with CAD design software, Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks preferred.
Ability to understand and translate technical data and preliminary sketches into digital design drawings.
A firm grasp of the principles and techniques required for the effective use of sheet metal design tools within CAD software.
Proficient in the use of other software such as Microsoft Office programs and MRP/ERP systems.
