• Develop and implement child care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
• Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs
• Prepare and lead daily activities
• Guide and assistant children on field trips and providing opportunities to express creativity
• Plan and maintain an environment that protects the safety and wellbeing of children
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
• Is a team player and has the ability to maintain a positive and healthy work environment (collaborating with coworkers and building/maintaining relationships with parents)
• Build and maintain professional relationships with parents, while still enforcing the guidelines set out by the center and Fraser Health
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
• Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping
• Interact with and update parents on their child's day
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress of children
