Summary:

The Royal Canadian Yacht Club was founded in Toronto in 1852 to serve both as a yachting recreational club and an unofficial auxiliary of the Royal Navy in the defense of the waters of Lake Ontario. We are one of Canada's premier sailing, sports and social clubs, The RCYC operates yearround from two facilities: our Island Clubhouse on the Toronto Islands and our City Clubhouse in downtown Toronto. With over 4300 Members, we offer extensive services in Food and Beverage along with Fitness, Sports and Sailing facilities.
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and tidy environment throughout the Clubs facilities.

This individual must adhere to all Club policies and regulations to support a functional, reliable, safe, and comfortable work environment for all.


Job Duties:

Cleaning, Maintaining the clubhouse and all indoor, outdoor and surrounding buildings Greet all Members and their Guests in a professional and courteous manner and direct them to the appropriate areas within the Club Log all lost and found items in logbook with the Quartermaster/Receptionist Maintain and clean all Member areas throughout the Club, including locker rooms, laundry room, washrooms, counter tops, sinks, partitions, garbage containers, mirrors, amenities, benches, organizing, dusting, restocking, and sanitizing Perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, and scrubbing Clean inside and outside lower level windows Complete towel maintenance, including collecting soiled towels, laundering towels, folding and rolling clean towels, and replenishing supplies Empty all garbage bins in all the areas of the Club Assist the Maintenance department with minor tasks when needed Set up Club decorations for seasonal events Reports any building or equipment damages or defects to the reporting Manager Other Housekeeping related tasks as assigned
Requirements:
  • Comfort with cleaning gendered change rooms and bathrooms is a plus
Completion of secondary education Must know how to use cleaning tools and equipment Positive attitude and commitment to ensure high level of standards to all Members and their Guests Must be organized and able to prioritize all daily tasks Excellent communication skills oral and written Able to work independently and within a team environment
