Role and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Services Regulatory Compliance Specialist
:40%: Direct qualification activities (cert rep and authority-direct):

  • Perform all tasks related to equipment qualification / re-qualification, by any National Aviation Authority agency or "in-house", such as simulator scheduling and maintaining proper documentation/presentations and appropriate reference materials.
  • Establish and maintain a good working rapport with the various members of all regulatory agencies.
  • Monitoring evaluation schedule calendar for all NAAs.
  • Coordinate with various regulatory agencies, as well as Program Managers/Schedulers to ensure evaluations are appropriately scheduled.
  • Establish communications to NAA (FAA/EASA/etc) for audits and scheduling.
  • Develop and present all necessary documentation for NAA evaluations.
  • Coordinate with Technicians/Group Leads to ensure devices are prepared for NAA evaluations.
  • Communicate information regarding regulatory agencies' visits and distribute to the appropriate personnel.
  • Receive and distribute evaluation Statements of Qualification/Qualification Certificates.
  • Ensure all evaluation data is entered correctly and within established procedural timeframes.
  • Monitor and report MMI DR reporting in accordance with NAA requirements.
25%: Complex Technical Support to Dept and Customers

  • Provide support and guidance to Technical Support for resolution of evaluation DRs and QTG DRs.
  • Develop and conduct technical training courses related to any area of expertise.
  • Track and verify the timely resolution of all discrepancies discovered during NAA qualification / requalifications.
  • Assist members of the Technical Support staff in resolving problems that require detailed knowledge of specific hardware and / or software systems.
  • Monitor and report MMI DR reporting in accordance with NAA requirements.
25%: Technical FSTD new-build and updates support

  • Coordinate with Technical Support for modifications, updates, extension request, fly out schedules, QTGs, new FSTDs
  • Manage Acceptance Test Manuals and QTG documentation requirements for Simulator Modifications.
  • Manage all NAA documentation and notification communications for Simulator Modifications.
10%: Professional Growth & Development

  • Be able to gain knowledge in areas other than regulatory world. Discover technical and nontechnical attributes as they relate to training center activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience in Flight Simulation Training Device maintenance.
  • Familiar with Flight Simulation Training Device Regualtions (TC, FAA, EASA, CAAC, UK-CAA, etc.).
  • Solid planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes.
  • Flexibility and strong ownership of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Initiative, autonomy, dynamism, team spirit and a love of challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and a resultsoriented approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written proficiency in French and English required
  • Selfmotivated, independent, dynamic, team player and good people skills.

Assets:

  • Interest and understanding in the relationship between technical hardware and software interaction as it relates to aviation simulation.
  • Aeronautical knowledge, knowledge of avionics, flight dynamics, aircraft systems and simulated systems an asset.
  • Aerospace knowledge (aircraft systems, pilot's license, etc.).
